Democratic Vision
|
The Democratic Party has a long and proud history of fighting for the middle class and defending the civil liberties of all Americans. The party platform outlines a concrete plan for getting America back on track and the execution of a 50-state strategy means better Democratic representation at every level in every region of the United States. With the planet in peril, an economy in trouble and the very health of our citizenry in jeopardy, the Democratic Party is committed to continuing this legacy so that all people can once again have hope of attaining the American dream.
Since 1950 Republican administrations have led America into eight recessions and the largest deficits have amassed under Presidents Reagan, Bush (41) and Bush (43). And, despite what they would have you believe, the size of government actually increases more under Republicans than under Democrats . |
Following several years of reckless spending, brash foreign policy agendas and incautious domestic programs is not an easy place to be but the leaders in the Democratic Party are taking the challenge head on. Step by step, district by district, state by state the Democrats are striving to right the ship and find the calm within the storm once more.
Opportunity is the name of the game. Improving our educational system and giving more students the chance to attend college creates a more qualified and innovative workforce. An increased and more proficient workforce drives the need for more jobs and better wages. A society hard at work creates a stable and growing economy.
The opportunity is there and the Democratic Party wants to lead America to a place of stimulus and stability, a place of progress and peace and a place where all citizens have wealth and health within their grasp! These are lofty goals that will take hard work and tremendous organization to realize, but the Democratic leadership believe that the American people deserve decent wages to live a good life and retire with dignity, an affordable health care system to maintain their wellness, an energy policy that diminishes a reliance on foreign oil and a safe world in which to live.
